Bold + subtle = Pattern mixing!
When: Tuesday April 27, 2010
What:
Roses dress: Forever XXI
Polka dot blazer: Forever XXI
Red tights: El Costo (Panama)
Black pumps: ? (Panama)
Black Liz Claiborne purse: TJ Max
Where: An internship interview for a marketing position... It went really well so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Comments:
Today I tried to do a little pattern mixing with this beautiful blazer I bought a while ago. I have always read that its best to combine a bold pattern with a subtle pattern, so that is exactly what I tried to do. The polka dot blazer is a very subtle pattern and it doesn't compete with the bold roses pattern. Actually, to be honest, today I was inspired by an outfit from Jen loves Kev:
Here she wore a mixture of a bold patterned skirt with a subtle polka dot top:
So I tried to copy the same look and I love it! I also added the red tights just because I was in a "I-wear-whatever-I-want-no-matter-what-other's-think" mood... jeje. I love when I feel bold like that :)
Here are all the cazillion ways I have worn this roses dress:

ReplyDeleteP.S. How tall are you? I almost never buy F21 jackets because they seem to only fit people who are like 5'4", and I'm 5'7".
