Monster Jam

When: Saturday February 27, 2010
What:
Stripped turtleneck: ? (Panama)
Jean skirt: Christmas present from my parents
Burgundy tights: Forever XXI
Brown boots: Payless Shoe Source
Olive Nine West purse: TJ Max
Brown belt: ? (Panama)
Floral scarf: Target
Where: Lunch with my boyfriend at the Inner Harbor and then we went to a Monster Jam show!
Comments:
Today I tried to mix patterns for the first time and I'll be honest, I had no idea what I was doing! jajaja. I have seen many people mix patterns beautifully and look so chic while pulling it off. But I really struggled with this one since I am used to only having one focal point. Anyway, I was glad to try something new so it was all worth it! How do you mix patterns?

Today I accompanied by boyfriend to watch a Monster Jam show (the ones with the HUGE cars running over small cars). I wasn't that excited to go since I am a flowery, sunny, happy type of girl and it just didn't seem like my thing. Nevertheless, I went there with a positive attitude hoping to have as much fun as I could.
Who would have known that I actually enjoyed it? jajaj weird I know! It was just very exciting and different that I actually enjoyed myself a bunch! Goes to show that its good to try new things, such as monster jam and pattern mixing, because you just might like it!

Love the skirt! I think you did the pattern mixing very well...they often say to treat your one pattern like a neutral and then add another pattern...so I'm thinking that the striped shirt worked well as your neutral!
ReplyDeleteI don´t know much about fashion but felt your choice of being next to the navy boat and in a sailor type of shirt was cool. jgm
ReplyDeletebtw you looked stunning in this outfit. the whole outfit was an eye catcher. and the scarf tied the tights and boots and purse together, not to mention your hair. jgm

Loved this striped sweater with the jean skirt. The colored tights picks up the colors in your scarf and gives it an overall great look. Perfect outfit for the day in the Inner Harbor and the Monster Truck show. It is always good to try new things and go out of our comfort zone sometimes. We might just like the newness and freshness of trying something new. That means we grow and dont stay in the "same ole same ole" rut.
ReplyDeleteThe stripes look nice with the jean skirt, and the red tights contrast finishs the effect off nicely. You should consider weaing tights more often as you look really great in all the pics I have seen of you wearing tights. Wearing hoisery really finishes off an outfit nicely and look more sophisticated, dressy and shows real class.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting my blog and taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it!
