My type of monochromatic

When: Monday February 15, 2010
What:
Green skirt: Old Navy
White tee: Target
Teal jacket: Forever XXI
Zigzag scarf: Target
Brown tights: Target
Brown boots: Payless Shoe Source
Mustard Nine West purse: TJ Max
Where: Tried cooking new recipes today with my boyfriend... its good to try something new!
Comments:
Lately I have seen many people wear monochromatic looks and pull it off beautifully, so I wanted to give it a try! The only problem is that I'm a girl who loves color (which you probably have already noticed by now); so one color just wasn't enough for me! Instead I combined to different shades of green in order to get that monochromatic look and then added a pop of mustard!
To finish the look, I added this beautiful zigzag scarf that included all the colors of the outfit :)

The scarf is just gorgeous. And the green skirt is super cute too. I like that you wear colour - you should embrace it as something that sets you apart.

You look great in this outfit. I always enjoy the pop piece and even moreso the more subtle hidden details that compliment the pop, in this case earings and flower hair piece, plus the mustard in the scarf which also ties everything together. Very nice. jgm

I am sure I have probably told you this before, but you wear color so amazingly. This outfit makes winter not seem so gloomy. Love your green skirt!

I really like the eyelet detail on the hem of the skirt. I've got my eye on some in the fabric store to make something similar ... once I finish everything else on my sewing table. Very fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat mono look and love the scarf tied into a bow!
ReplyDeleteWell blues and greens are always one of my fav color combos. The mustard accents (purse and hair pin) are just what the outfit needs to make it not so monochromatic. (I know that was the point of this challenge. LOL) The scarf is spectacular and I loooove it. Tieing it in a bow tie is a new and different twist. This outift gives you the comfy and warm feeling for a winter day.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you tied the scarf! you always look great!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog, and you are very stylish! :)
