Paradise at Isla Grande, Panama
Sunday December 16, 2012
This year, the office where I work decided to celebrate Christmas a little differently. Instead of having our usual Christmas party, we decided to go to a nearby island to relax by the beach! It was AH-mazingly beautiful!
On our way to the island, we stopped by one of Panama's most famous historic areas: Portobelo in Colon. The ruins of all the canyons and forts are so impressive!
After about an hour and a half drive, we finally reached the gorgeous beach. The water was such a beautiful shade of blue!
Then we got in one of the small little boats and were on our way to our final destination: Isla Grande, a nearby beach island. The boat ride over was so relaxing with the refreshing summer breeze.
Isla Grande was soooooo much prettier than I remembered! There were tall palm trees, white sand, and clear waters. We spent most of our time swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing on the grass. Talk about a little peace of heaven on Earth right?!
Hope you are all having a great week!

Whoa, totally weird connection here--I had a dream once and that moss path in your ruins was totally in it. Like, that's exactly what it looked like in my dream. Freaky! hahaha, but anyway, this looks like such a beautiful place... I love all that moss and stone! Gorgeous pictures, Marie. :D And a gorgeous dress to go with it! I hope your trip was super relaxing and lovely. <3
ReplyDeleteAlso, thank you for the kind words! There weren't any bad storms near us (thankfully!) so all is well. <3 :))
Such a gorgeous place! The water is so clear and beautiful. It makes me want to go there now - hahaha.

ReplyDeleteHahahahahhaa thanks Ashley!!! It does come with its disadvantages like muggy weather and frizzy hair... hahaha.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Priya!!! It is amazing that even though I live in Panama, I rarely take the time to see its beautiful places like this beach. Its only an hour and a half or so drive, and yet I almost never go. I definitely should try to go on more local adventures!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful Christmas! If you ever do decide to visit Panama, let me know and we will meet up ;)
Aaaaaawwwww, thank you so much Laura!! Yaaaii!!! Your sweet words always make me happy ;)

ReplyDeleteThank you!!! Well, believe it or not, I would looooove to have at least a little snow here. Sometimes the heat is unbearable, hahahaha. Hope you are keeping warm!
ReplyDeleteThank you so so much, glad to hear you liked them!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jody!!! It was definitely a lot of fun. The snorkeling was very challenging for me since I'm kind of afraid of the sea (silly, I know). I ran out of breath several times because I would panick being so away from the shore. But in the end I managed to relax and enjoy it ;)

¡Hola amiga!
Besos,
Francisco M.
