Crazy Stripes!
Today I felt pretty bold and gutsy, so I decided to wear this crazy mix of stripes! As if the pattern mix between the dress and jacket wasn't enough, I also decided to through in my crazy bolt heels for good measure. I know I look kind of crazy, but somehow I love this outfit ;)

I know I've mentioned it before, but the story behind the dress I'm wearing today is pretty special. My mom wore this dress the night my father proposed to her 35 years ago. Every time I wear this dress, I think of the inspiring love my parents have for each other and how appreciative I am to have them as parents. So yeah, it is a pretty special dress!

BTW, I'm submitting this outfit for the IFB Stripes roundup! Check it out here!
Hope you are all having a great day!

The dress is cute, but its story makes it really special. And the fabric must be good, 35 years and still looking new!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a special story about that dress!! The double stripes are crazy, but good-crazy! You make it work.

This is a bold look, but you look so gooooood! I think it works so well because you kept the shoes simple. The stripes don't even seem to clash! Marie, you work magic sometimes. :) And I also love the story behind that dress... how sweet is that! <3 You're wearing memories, hehehe. :D

ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe you actually managed to combine two striped pieces of clothing together and make it look amazing, love it! And the fact that your mum wore that dress when your dad proposed, that is an amazing story! I understand that dress is special to you <3 Seeing as they are still together, it might even be kind of a good luck charm! ;)

ReplyDeleteThat's so amazing that you and your mom held on to that dress! I still have the skirt and sweater my husband proposed to me in. It's very sentimental. :)
ReplyDeleteI like how you paired it with another striped blazer- very bold!
Great =) Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Heidi! Wao, you should definitely keep that skirt and sweater! I bet it is very special to you and reminds you of that special day when you wear it. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteMarie, I've loved catching up on your posts and seeing all your fun colorful outfits (as usual)! I like the way you paired these stripey pieces together, it's fun but not too crazy! Those shoes are awesome too. Also I love the story behind this dress, that is so sweet! And how nice that it's stylish looking dress :) I wore my mom's (shortened and slightly altered) high school graduation dress when I graduated from high school, and it's still one of the most special pieces of clothing I own! That's what your dress made me think of!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Marie!
