Lightning Bolt Heels
Friday November 30, 2012
Soooo, I bought these heels back in June (See post about it here!), and this is the FIRST time I ever wear them!! That should be a crime shouldn't it?! Especially since these Lightning bolt heels are just AH-mazing. My sister likes to call them my "Harry Potter" shoes because of the similarity to Harry's scar... hehe.
In my defense, I'm wearing something quite new: this jacket from Forever21 (Find it here!). I bought it on my trip to Orlando last month, and I'm loving how it mixes denim and leather! Ok, ok, so a month ago doesn't technically count as "new", but its better than the 6-months-old shoes! hahaha.
Do you usually buy items and then not wear them until months later? What is the longest time a "new" item has sit in your closet without wearing it? (Mine is I think a year....ghee whiz, I'm hopeless, haha)

{Dress: Saks (Panama (old) ; Jacket: Forever21 ; Heels: Modcloth.com ; Murano Crystal necklace: Bought it on a trip to Venice }
BTW, I'm submitting this look for the IFB Summer Leather roundup!! Check it out here!
Here are all the ways in which I've worn this dress:

So beautiful Marie! Love the shoes. Isn't it hard to walk with them since the heels are irregular? Whoooaoaa! :) Amazing indeed! :) Love your eye makeup too dear! :)

I can't believe you've NEVER worn those shoes! I remember loving them when you got them, but I think I love them even more now!
ReplyDeleteOK, so the heels are TOTALLY KILLER, but I am DYING over the jacket! LOVE this!

When I read the title of this post, the first thing I thought of was Harry Potter! lol Those shoes are so unique and awesome!
ReplyDeleteI've definitely been guilty of buying something and then not wearing it for months. I'm not sure what the longest would be...maybe a few months? Maybe close to a year? I might have stuff that I've never actually worn yet. lol. Sometimes I think an item is going to work and then it doesn't. It mostly happens with thrifted stuff because it's so cheap that I can take the risk!
Love how bright and bold your style is! Really shows through these gorgeously curated shots! You're beautiful in blue doll, goes so well with your hair!
ReplyDeleteAlso- I’m hosting a décor-to-dress giveaway where 3 winners
will WIN a fabulous frock of their choice just in time for the holidays! Hope you’ll stop by to enter the contest!

Wow, Marie, you look amazing! <3 The shoes, the dress, the jacket, the hair, the make-up... Amazing outfit!
ReplyDeleteThe shoes remind me of Harry Potter as well, haha! They are amazing, I've never seen anything like them before! Are they comfortable??
I'm also guilty of buying things and then not wearing them for a long time... I think I've also managed to keep things hidden in my closet for a year, haha! But as long as we re-discover the items, it's all good, right? ;)
I love this outfit with rock scratch totally!
ReplyDeleteI love this look, you are so pretty!

Glad to hear you liked them Mona!! Yai!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ashley, I really appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteHahahah I know right?!?! I would die of shame, but I'm so used to me doing this by now. I have a ton of nice things that I haven't got around to wearing. Its such a bad habit! hehehehehe. Thanks for stopping by ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Kate, glad to hear you think so!
ReplyDeleteHahaha its funny you thought of Harry Potter with the title of this post, I guess that "Harry Potter" shoes are definitely the right name for these funky heels! hhahaha. Glad to hear I am not the only one guilty of leaving new stuff in their closet without wearing it ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear you liked it Julie!! It makes me happy to hear you like my style, I'm so flattered.
ReplyDeleteHahaha glad to hear I'm not alone Jody!!! At least its fun to re-discover "new" things in my closet from time to time. These shoes actually fit me just a tad too small (I ordered them online), so they aren't the most comfortable pair because of that reason. If it weren't for the sizing, they would be very comfortable and sturdy. The heel feels very strong and its easy to walk in them.
ReplyDeleteThank you Maria!! Glad to hear it!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kinga! It makes me happy to hear you like my hair color, especially since I've been feeling kind of unsure about it lately. Thanks for the kind words!
ReplyDeleteAaaawww, you are too sweet Aurélie! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marina! Yai!
ReplyDeleteYour collection of super awesome shoes never ceases to amaze me, Marie! :D These are so cool. You should totally make a Harry Potter themed outfit with them, hahaha! But I love the heel on them and how bold that jacket is--the leather detailing is so neat!
ReplyDeletechecking on your previous outfits for this dress, this is my favorite. <3 i love the blue jacket and how it gave the dress a more bad ass feel.

I have been known to have things in my closet with TAGS still on them! So, I've been making a strong point in wearing things as soon as I can! These heels are so fun! Love the detail of the heel. And the F21 jacket is sooooo amazing. I love the quilted detail on the shoulder!

Loving the heels and the jacket, very edgy :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great look. Love the heels + jacket :) xA
ReplyDeletehmmm...the longest something has been in my closet before I wore it was 4 months but I bought summer clothes to wear when I moved to Florida so I don't know if that counts...haha. When I purchase clothing I usually wear them the week I get them.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit especially the heels. Such interesting design and very unique! :)
Great heels!
ReplyDeleteAbout the longest time a "new" item laid in my closet... Let me tell you you're just an apprentice :P One of my cousins married in the end of July 2008 and I bought the outfit in August 2007. Almost 1 year before. On the other hand, the shoes for the occasion were only bought the week before.
And, yeah, I have a couple of "special" dresses and "special" shoes I bought for the past 3-4 years. They're just waiting for the "special" occasion to get out of the closet.
Awesome sense of style.. love it! x

beautiful shoes!
ReplyDeleteDying over those fabulous shoes. I've always thought the denim/leather jackets are so cool, but I wouldn't know how to wear one! I love how you wore it here.
ReplyDeleteI love your shoes !
ReplyDeleteAnd i am guilty of wearing things a year later.
Or even worst.. i have a dress that has been hanging in my closet for almost 8 years... with tags.
Thank you Ali!! Yeah, my show collection seems to be out of control sometimes. I wish there were more days in the year so that I could get more use out of them... hehe. I will DEFINITELY use these shoes if I ever make a Harry Potter themed outfit! hehehe. Thanks for always being so sweet :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Gizelle!! I agree with you, the jacket really helps toughen up the girly dress. Thanks so much for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteHi Terry! Thank you so so much, I'm so flattered to hear you liked my outfit!
ReplyDeleteI guess we are two of a kind then Nancy!! I literally just took the tag off of the jacket I am wearing right now... hahaha. I seem to take forever to wear my new things. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThank you Olga, glad to hear you liked it!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Vale, it makes me so happy to hear that ;)
ReplyDeleteAaawww, thank you Annelie!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so so much!
ReplyDeleteGood for you Heidi!! I wish I was more like you in wearing things as soon as I get them. Alas, that seems to be impossible for me for some reason. Anyway, glad to hear you liked this outfit, thank you!
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha OMG, I bow down to the queen of saving "new" things. I'm definitely an apprentice! hahaha. I guess you and are two of a kind!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
ReplyDeleteAaaawww, thanks Teddi!! Glad to hear you liked everything about this outfit, YAI! Also glad to hear I'm not alone when it comes to taking forever to wear "new" things ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Monika!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much JB! To be honest, I was quite unsure on how to wear the denim/leather jacket myself. I figured a black and white dress was a pretty safe bet ;)
ReplyDeleteOMG!! Hahahahhaa Lorena, you totally beat me with that 8 year old dress!! Well, I once bought a dress to go to prom with my former boyfriend, and we broke up a couple of weeks before the party. I kept the dress with its tags in my closet for 4 or 5 years until I just wore it last year... haha.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting my blog and taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it!
