{New Years}: Resolutions for 2018
Hey guys! I know, I know... you can't believe I'm posting these new years resolutions in mid-February, am I right?! What can I say, I've been craaazy busy busy!! But even if its late, I thought it would still be worth while to share with all of you my plans for this 2018.
2017 was a year that was all about big changes in my professional life, and I am so happy to confirm that I achieved everything I wanted to in that respect. I started working as a host for a local TV channel that airs live from Monday to Friday (job which I love!) and cut back half of the time at my desk job. Considering that being videotaped has been a long-time fear of mine, I feel super proud of myself for having faced my fears and accomplished this goal (kudos to all the people who supported me along the way!).
-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Ya se, ya se... no pueden creer que hasta ahora en medio de Febrero es que voy a publicar mis resoluciones para el año. Qué les puedo decir, es que he estado super ocupada!! Pero aunque sea super tarde, pensé que igual valía la pena compartir con ustedes mis planes para este 2018.
El 2017 fue un año de muchos cambios para mí en cuanto a mi vida profesional, y estoy muy contenta de confirmar que logré todo lo que quería en ese aspecto. Empecé a trabajar como presentadora de televisión en vivo de Lunes a Viernes (cosa que me encanta!) y me convertí en trabajadora "part-time" en mi oficina. Siendo grabada en video ha sido algo que siempre me ha creado muchísima ansiedad, así que me siento muy orgullosa de mí misma por haber enfrentado mis miedos y logrado esta meta (y gracias a todos los que me apoyaron en el camino!).
This year my goals are just two things: a) Traveling more (which I set as a resolution each and every year!) and b) Focus a little more on myself. I'm a person who gets fully immersed into my daily work and loves to please others, which leaves very little time for myself. This year I plan on growing as a person, starting new and exciting projects (like my super new online The Joy of Fashion Shop!), and pushing myself more than ever to exceed on my blog, YouTube Channel, and Social Media. But apart from that, I want to be more open to new experiences, hanging out with new people, making new friends, and just stepping out of my comfort zone. It is SO easy to just stay at home to Netflix and Chill, but this year I want so much more than that. I want to be daring, bold, and courageous... and I feel more equipped than I've ever been to be just that :)
I think this is the first time in my life that I actually feel comfortable with who I am, just the way I am. Obviously, I'm not perfect and there is always room for improvement, but I do feel incredibly blessed for all the good and bad things that have happened to me that make me the woman I am today. I've learned that I am enough and that I don't need to pretend to be something I'm not just to please others. I'm Marie McGrath, the pink haired unicorn who loves color and positivity, and I've learned that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that :)

Este año me voy a enfocar en dos cosas: a) Viajar más (cosa que me propongo absolutamente todos los años!) y b) Enfocarme más en mí misma. Yo soy el tipo de persona que se sumerge completamente en su trabajo y suele pensar más en cómo complacer a los demás, ignorando mis propias necesidades. Este año planeo crecer como persona, empezando proyectos nuevos y emocionantes (como mi nuevo The Joy of Fashion Shop!), y empujándome más que nunca a crecer mi blog, mi canal de YouTube, y mis redes sociales. Pero aparte de eso, quiero estar abierta a nuevas experiencias, conociendo a nuevas personas, haciendo amigos, y saliendo de mi zona de comfort. Es TAN fácil quedarse en casa haciendo "Netflix and Chill", pero este año quiero mucho más que eso. Quiero ser aventurera, osada, y valiente... y me siento más preparada que nunca para ser exactamente eso.
Es la primera vez en mi vida que me siento a gusto con quien soy, tal cual como soy. Obvio no soy perfecta y siempre hay donde mejorar, pero me siento agradecida por todas las cosas que me han sucedido (buenas y malas) que me han convertido en la mujer que soy hoy en día. He aprendido que soy suficiente como soy, y que no tengo que tratar de ser diferente solo para complacer a los demás. Soy Marie McGrath, la unicornio de cabello rosa que le encantan los colores y el positivismo, y he aprendido que eso no tiene nada de malo.
Así es chicos, este año 2018 va a ser espectacular!! Deseándoles a todos ustedes un maravilloso año (aunque ya sea mediados de Febrero, jeje)!!
