Cruella De Vil inspired outfit

Hey guys, happy Tuesday!!! Last week was the 56th anniversary of the release of the Disney movie 101 Dalmations, so I thought it would be fun to create a simple DIY project in commemoration! In the end, I went with these adorable Cruella De Vil Mickey ears that are very easy to assemble and would be perfect for your next trip to Disney World (or in my case, just sitting at home in my pajamas with my Mickey ears on and watching Disney movies! hehe).

For this project, you will need:
  • A small piece of cardboard or foam
  • 1 chopstick
  • Red ribbon
  • Black sequins
  • 1 black or silver earring or gem
  • A headband (I recommend a thicker version than the one shown)
  • Dalmation (or cow!) printed fabric
  • Cotton balls
  • White and black paint
  • Small silver rhinestones (to decorate the "cigarette")
  • A hot glue gun and scissors

Para este proyecto, vas a necesitar:
  • Un pequeño pedazo de cartón o foam
  • 1 palillo chino
  • Cinta roja
  • Lentejuelas negras
  • 1 arete negro o plateado

Start off by cutting out two Mickey ears out of cardboard using a coffee cup as a guide for the size. Next apply hot glue to the edges of the ears (except for the bottom edge that should be left open for now, as seen in the picture) and glue it to the fabric. Cut the ear out with scissors and repeat on the other side of the ear until you have two Mickey ears covered in fabric in back and in front.

Remember that bottom edge of the ear we didn't glue to fabric? Now its time to fill up the ears on one side with cotton balls through that little hole you left earlier. Once its filled up, close the bottom of the ears using the hot glue gun. To give it a little sparkle, glue the black sequins to the outer edge of the ears as shown.

Cut a long but thin piece of fabric and wrap it around the headband, securing it with glue. Then apply a LOT of hot glue to your ears to attach them to the headband. With the red ribbon, create a bow for your ears. Next use the white and black paint to decorate your chopstick as a cigarette and apply little rhinestones to the tip for extra glam factor. To finish off, hot glue the bow, "cigarette", and gem earring to the center of your headband as shown.

Voilá! All done!

Y listo!!
