...

Hi guys!! Its FINALLY October, and you all know what that means right?!?! Halloween Costumes!!!

My first DIY costume idea for this year is this super cute deer ensemble I actually wore for last year's Halloween. What I like the most about this costume is that it is very inexpensive and easy to recreate at home (AND it is simply AH-Dorable, am I right?!).

Deer Dress:
Lets start off with the deer dress, shall we?! You will need a simple brown dress (I bought mine at Forever21 for like $15), white and brown felt, scissors, and acrylic glue (or a hot glue gun).

To make this deer costume, you just need to follow these 6 easy steps:
1. Draw a big oval shape on white felt and cut it out with scissors. I made mine about 14" of height.
2. Glue the oval to the front of the dress.
3. Draw and cut out a brown felt tail and a smaller white felt inner tail and glue the two together.
4. Draw and cut out different sized circles of white felt.
5. Glue the tail to the back of the dress. Then start adding different sized white circles up the spine area leaving the middle part of the spine spotless.
6. Add white circles to the front and back of the shoulders.

All done!

Y listo!

Deer Ears and Antlers:
In order to make the deer ears, you will need brown and white felt, scissors, glue, two bobby pins, a brown elastic band, and any small twigs you find outside (that's right, twigs!!). First cut out of brown and white felt the shape of the ears and glue the two pieces together. Then fold the inner part of the ear and create a small hole on either side to introduce a bobby pin (see below photo for reference).

To assemble the entire look, start by tying the brown elastic band over your forehead tightly like a headband. Then add little bundles of twigs on either side of your head by stuffing them between the headband and your head. Next use the bobby pinned ears to attach them on either side of your head, close to where the twigs are stuffed into the headband. As a cute bonus, I also added little flower bobby pins on either side (I bought them super duper cheap at a drugstore!). And voila!

Y listo!!

Makeup:
The most important part of this look is definitely the makeup; but don't be afraid, its super easy!! You will need white face paint, brown face paint (or in my case, a dark brown concealer!), black eyeliner, and (optional) brown eyeshadow.

Maquillaje:

1. Start with a clean fresh face.
2. Use the white face paint to do a "mask" of sorts around your eyes, most of your forehead, and also along the top part of your nose.
3. Use the dark brown concealer to paint on the outside edges of your face (forehead and temples especially) as well as your cheekbones. Basically you are trying to outline the white "mask" you did earlier.
4. Use the black eyeliner to draw a thick and bold cat eye on both of your eyes.
5. Use brown eyeshadow (or more dark brown concealer) to outline your nose on either side, next to the white line you had painted in Step 2. Use the same brown eyeshadow to fill in your eyebrows and to connect them to the sides of your nose (as in the photo).
6. Use the black eyeliner to paint the tip of your nose and around your nostrils.
7. Use the white face paint once more to add small little dots above your mouth, your cheekbones, and on the top of your forehead.

All done!

1. Empieza con una cara limpia.

Y listo!!
