I'm soooo lucky to work in a place where the dress code is not so serious! It allows me to wear colorful outfits and fun floral prints. As long as the skirts aren't too short and the tops aren't too revealing, everything is good! It feels great to be able to dress like myself every morning instead of having to wear very conservative work clothes.

Although the dress code is pretty flexible, I wondered all day if the cute bow in my hair was going a little too far. Of course I love the bow in my hair, but it's not really that professional. I began to think that people perhaps wouldn't take me too seriously because of my bow (all of these complicated thoughts just because of a bow! Crazy huh?!).

I ended up deciding that I should stay true to myself and to the things I love... If I think the bow is cute and it makes me happy, than why shouldn't I wear it? :)

Do you wear things to work that are perhaps not so professional but that make you happy?

Here are all the ways in which I've worn this beige cardi:

  1. I know what you mean about balancing professional and fun in work clothes. I often wonder if my style is office inappropriate, but usually end up wearing the things I love too.

  2. I wear vintage and that doesn't always seem the most conservative professional thing to choose, but I love it, so I wear it!

  5. Well, when I worked I was a teacher, so that is by nature a bit less buttoned up than the usual corporate environment, but I wasn't really that interested in style at that point (And coached before and after) so it was mostly khakis and shirts .... but, teaching is a profession where you can wear "fun" clothes more than others I think and it can make you more approachable. I love your shoes!

  7. Cute look! I think the bow is not bad for work. Its not unprofessional and ads a little bit of personality. ;)

  8. I love how you paired such a bright floral skirt with the two neutral tops :D I don't think the bow is unprofessional though, especially since the placement of it is at the back of your head and not that noticeable :)

  10. I'm glad you came to that conclusion, since really seriousness and respect are things you deserve and no bow can ever come between that!
