Comments:
I think this is the boldest pattern mixing I have ever done! I usually use a really subtle pattern with a very bold one, but today I felt very bold! So I thought: two bold patterns? Why not!

Even though today's look is bold, I think it works well because the striped cardi is a little bolder than the skirt. I kept the rest of the outfit very very simple (black accessories, simple jewelry, sleek hair, etc.) so that the pattern mixing would take center stage. I wasn't quite sure of the mix at first, but I felt better and better in it as the day progressed... in fact, I received several compliments on my boldness today! Yai!

Do you ever do REALLY bold pattern mixing?

Here are all the ways in which I've worn this striped cardi:

  5. you did a great job with this risky combinaation. it matched very well. my focus was on the bottom layer of the skirt which matched the sweater and brought them together. also i enjoyed all the black pieces thrown in (purse, tights, shoes, etc) to bring a defined balance to this outfit. well done! jgm
