{DIY}: Christmas Peppermint Fascinator
Hi guys!! Christmas is right around the corner, so I thought I would share with all of you a simple tutorial on how to create this adorable peppermint fascinator headband!! I love how quick and easy this was to make and yet it adds so much Holiday flair to a simple red dress. This would be perfect for an "Ugly Sweater Party", especially paired with peppermint inspired makeup ;)

Navidad ya está a la vuelta de la esquina, así que pensé que sería divertido compartir con todos ustedes este tutorial sencillo de cómo crear una vincha de mentita navideña super adorable!! Me encanta lo rápido y sencillo que fue crear este accesorio y lo mucho que añade a tu look navideño de estas fiestas. Sería peeeeeerfecto para una fiesta de "Ugly Sweater", especialmente si lo combinas con un maquillaje de mentita navideña ;)
To create this cute fascinator, you will need:
- A round flat styrofoam (you can find this in craft stores)
- Red paint and a paint brush
- Red and white glitter + white glue
- A headband (or hair clip if you prefer)
- A hot glue gun
Para crear esta vincha navideña, vas a necesitar:
- Un foamy plano y redondo (lo puedes conseguir en sederías)
- Pintura roja y pincel
- Escarcha roja y blanca + goma blanca
- Una vincha (o un clip de cabello si prefieres)
- Una pistola de goma caliente
The first step towards making this cute holiday accessory is drawing the peppermint stripes on the top and side of your round styrofoam using a pencil. Start by locating the center of the circle (using a ruler) and then draw out your stripes from that point.
Once you are happy with your drawing, start painting in all red areas with a small to medium sized brush. Let it dry completely before applying white glue to the white areas of your peppermint, covering them with white glitter along the way. Then do the same with the red areas. Finish it off by using the hot glue gun to place the fascinator on top of the headband or hair clip. And voilá!
El primer paso para crear este lindo accesorio navideño es dibujar las rayas de la mentita en la parte de arriba y de al lado de tu foamy utilizando un lápiz. Empieza calculando el centro del círculo (utilizando una regla) y luego dibujas rayas a partir de ese centro.
Una vez estés contento con tu dibujo de rayas, empieza a pintar las áreas rojas con la pintura de tu preferencia. Déjalo secar completamente antes de aplicar goma blanca a las áreas blancas y de cubrirlas con escarcha blanca. Luego repite el mismo proceso con las áreas rojas. Termina tu accesorio utilizando tu pistola de goma caliente para pegar la mentita a tu vincha. Y listo!
