{DIY}: Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Rose Dress Makeover
Hi guys!! The re-make of Beauty and the Beast is FINALLY going to hit theaters, and I couldn't be more excited!!! In commemoration of what surely will be the most magical movie of the year, I decided to make this simple DIY no-sew dress makeover tutorial inspired by the Enchanted Rose from Beauty and the Beast. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!
-- En Español -- Hola chicos!! La nueva versión de Bella y la Bestia POR FIN está por salir en cines, y estoy suuuuper emocionada!! En conmemoración de lo que seguro será la película más mágica del año, decidí crear este tutorial "no-sew" (sin coser) re-creando un vestido inspirado en la Rosa Encantada de la Bella y la Bestia. Estoy ENAMORADA del resultado!!
This project is a loooot easier than you might think and doesn't need one bit of sewing! To recreate this look at home, all you need is a simple red dress as a base, red tulle (I used 15 yards), red ribbon, red plastic roses, safety pins, and a hot glue gun.
Este proyecto es mucho más fácil de lo que piensas, y no necesitas coser absolutamente nada! Para recrear el look en casa, vas a necesitar un vestido rojo sencillo de base, tulle rojo (yo usé 15 yardas), cinta roja, rosas rojas de plástico, imperdibles, y una pistola de goma caliente.
To create this enchanted rose dress, you just need to follow the next 8 steps:
1. Cut a square of tulle of about 20"-25" long on each side.
2. Pinch the middle of the square...
3. ... and pull it up until you create a triangular strand of tulle (as the photo).
4. Use safety pins on the inside of the dress to attach the strand of tulle to the bottom of the dress.
5. Continue the same process until you surround the entire bottom of the dress with strands of triangular tulle.
6. Repeat the same process with longer triangles of tulle creating a second layer right above the first layer of tulle on the bottom of the dress.
7. Next add some plastic roses and rose petals throughout the bottom of the dress, securing with a hot glue gun.
8. Criss-cross red ribbon around the waist and back of the dress to create an interesting X design.
All done!
Para crear este vestido de rosa encantada, solamente necesitas seguir los siguientes 8 pasos:
1. Corta un cuadrado de tulle entre 20"-25" de largo.
2. Peñizca el centro del cuadrado...
3. ... y estíralo hacia arriba para crear un retazo de tulle en forma triangular (como en la foto)
4. Utiliza imperdibles en la parte de adentro del vestido para sujetar el retazo de tulle a la parte de abajo del vestido.
5. Continua el mismo proceso hasta que hallas cubierto todo el borde de abajo del vestido con retazos de tulle en forma triangular.
6. Repite el mismo proceso pero con retazos de tulle más largos para crear una segunda capa de tulle en la parte de abajo del vestido, encima de la primera capa que habías hecho.
7. Ahora añade rosas y pétalos de plástico a la parte de abajo del vestido, sujetándolo con una pistola de goma caliente.
8. Cruza cinta roja por la cintura y la espalda del vestido para crear un diseño entre-cruzado.
Y listo!
I can't believe that I actually put this dress together all by myself in less than 1 hour! I can definitely see myself wearing this to a wedding in the future.
