{New Years}: Resolutions for 2017
Hi guys! I know, I know, I promised the other day that I was done with my New Year inspired posts.... but this one WILL be the last, pinky swear!! ;)
I almost didn't write this post, but later I decided it was important to share with all of you my vision for 2017 and everything it entails. This year is going to be BIG for me for many many reasons that you will all (hopefully soon!) find out. But first, lets see what last year's resolutions were and how I measured up to them:

Casi no escribo este post, pero luego decidí que es importante compartir con todos ustedes mi visión para el 2017 y todo lo que conviene. Este nuevo año va a ser un GRAN año para mí por muchísimas razones que ustedes prontito (ojalá!) se enterarán. Pero primero, veamos cuáles fueron mis resoluciones del año pasado y si los llegue a cumplir:
2016 Resolution 1: Travel More --> DONE!
In 2016, I went on three trips: Medellín, Miami, and Denver!! That might not sound like much to you, but it's a lot more than I usually do. Hooray!
Resolución del 2016 No. 1: Viajar más --> HECHO!
En el 2016, pude hacer tres viajes internacionales a Medellín, Miami, y Denver!! Eso tal vez no suene como muchos viajes, pero para mí es un gran avance. Woohoo!
2016 Resolution 2: Dance More --> Epic Fail!
Sooooo yeah, I didn't do that. At most I went to a couple of aerobic dancing classes to do a little workout, but that's about it. Oops!
Resolución del 2016 No. 2: Bailar más --> Epic Fail!
Pueeeeeeesss, la verdad es que no lo hice. Si acaso llegue a ir a algunas clases de baile de aeróbico para ejercitarme, pero eso es todo. Ooops!
2016 Resolution 3: Move into my 1st apartment --> DONE!
I am in loooooove with my new apartment and how girly I managed to decorate it!! I did various posts about it too, check them out here and here!
Resolución del 2016 No. 3: Mudarme a mi 1er apartamento --> HECHO!
Estoy enamoraaaaaaada de mi nuevo apartamento y de lo femenino que logré decorarlo!! Hice varios posts de cómo se ve, lo pueden encontrar aquí y aquí!
2016 Resolution 4: Be more daring --> Nope!
I must admit that I didn't step out of my comfort zone very much in 2016. I was all about those cozy safe days blogging at home and watching CSI or Reign (my new fav TV Series!). Oops!
Resolución del 2016 No. 4: Atreverme más --> Pues nops!
Tengo que admitir que en el 2016 no me salí mucho de mi área de comfort. Es más, me pasé la mayoría del año bloggeando desde la seguridad de mi casa viendo mis series favoritos del momento: CSI y Reign. Oops!
2016 Resolution 5: Dress Better at Work --> DONE!
I definitely think I did a good job stepping up my work style game, considering that in 2015 I basically only wore jeans with button down shirts and a blazer to work (like every.single.day)... hehe. This year I'll be sharing much more of my work style btw!
Resolución del 2016 No. 5: Vestirme mejor en el Trabajo --> HECHO!
Definitivamente siento que mejoré mis looks para ir a trabajar, especialmente considerando que en el 2015 básicamente usaba looks de jeans, camisa de botones, y blazer todos (TODOS!) los días al trabajo... hehe. Por cierto, este año estaré compartiendo con ustedes muchos más fotos de mi estilo profesional!
To recap, I accomplished 3 out of my 5 resolutions for 2016. That's pretty good right?!
If I had to describe 2016 in a couple of words, I would say it was a year of recovery from the blow of loosing my mother in November 2015. I had a pretty low-key year, spending most of my days at home and avoiding social interactions.
In retrospect, I am grateful that I decided to give myself the year to remain in my safe bubble environment and allow my wounds to heal up a bit, trying to learn how to feel happy and positive again after my mom's passing. But I feel its time for me to be brave and get myself back out there again; to LIVE life for all it has to offer!
Aaaaaaand that takes me to 2017's resolutions!! Like I said earlier, I think this year is going to be BIG for me on personal and also professional level. Lets take a looksy at this years' goals shall we?!
Para recapitular, en el 2016 logré 3 de mis 5 resoluciones. Eso no está nada mal no?!
Si tuviera que describir el 2016 en pocas palabras, diría que fue un año de recuperación del fallecimiento de mi mamá en Noviembre del 2015. Tuve un año bastante relajado, pasando la mayoría de mis días en casa y evitando salir mucho.
Analizándolo todo, en verdad me alegro que decidí darme el año para permanecer en mi burbuja de seguridad y dejando que mis heridas se sanaran un poco, aprendiendo como volver a ser felíz aun cuando mi mamá ya no está. Pero ahora siento que es tiempo de ser más valiente y salirme nuevamente de mi elemento para VIVIR la vida a lo máximo!
Yyyyyyyy eso me lleva a mis resoluciones del 2017!! Como les dije antes, este va a ser un GRAN año para mí personalmente como también profesionalmente. Veamos cuáles son mis metas de este año, les parece?!
2017 Resolution 1: Blog Rebranding!
This year I have BIG plans for expanding my blog into new categories adding all sorts of new material other than fashion. Ok, ok, don't freak out my friends, I promise that you will still be seeing all of my daily outfits!! But as I've grown as a person and a blogger, I feel that there is so much more to me that I would like to share with you other than just my sense of style.
So this year you can be expecting lots of new segments appearing here on The Joy of Fashion blog shifting its way into more of a Lifestyle blog rather than just a Fashion blog. A couple of things you can expect is a lot more DIY projects, Makeup and Hair tutorials, Home Decor, and a bigger presence of my favorite books/movies/brands (in particular Disney, Harry Potter, and Lisa Frank).
I am super excited to finally work on making this blog what I have always wanted it to be: my own little wonderland. A place where I can share my passion for fashion, beauty, DIY projects, Disney, and all things girly and cheerful. I'm excited but also scared on making this big change, hoping that you will all be on board and enjoy the new material. Fingers crossed that you do!
Speaking of which! Below is a little survey to see what you all would like to see on my blog this year! I would LOVE to get your input!
Resolución del 2017 No. 1: Re-diseñando mi Blog!
Este año tengo GRANDES planes de expandir mi blog con nuevas categorías y temas además de moda. Ok, ok, no se asusten mis amigos, les prometo que todavía podrán ver todos mis looks diarios! Pero siento que he ido creciendo como persona y blogger, y hay muchas otras cosas que me gustaría compartir con ustedes además de mi estilo personal.
Así que este año podrán esperar muchos nuevos segmentos apareciendo aquí en The Joy of Fashion moviendo mi blog hacia el campo de Lifestyle en vez de solamente moda. Les puedo adelantar que verán muchos proyectos DIY (Hazlo tú mismo), tutoriales de maquillaje y peinados, Hogar, y una gran presencia de mis libros/películas/marcas favoritas (en particular Disney, Harry Potter, y Lisa Frank).
Estoy super emocionada de por fin convertir mi blog en lo que siempre he querido que fuera: mi propio país de las maravillas. Un lugar donde puedo compartir mi pasión por moda, belleza, manualidades, Disney, y todo lo que es girly y divertido. Estoy emocionada y a la vez ansiosa de este gran cambio, esperando que a todos ustedes les guste este nuevo material. Tengo muchas esperanzas de que sea así!
Es más, abajo les tengo una pequeña encuesta para ver qué tipo de material les gustaría ver más en mi blog este año! Me ENCANTARÍA escuchar sus opiniones!!

2017 Resolution 2: Travel More!
I make this resolution every single year and I will probably continue to do so until the day I die, haha. I find it so important to get out there and see all the things this wonderful world has to offer. That is why I am challenging myself to travel to at least 3 places this year that I have never been to. In particular, I have my hopes on visiting Spain, New Orleans, aaaaaaaand my all time dream come true: JAPAN! Hopefully I'll manage to make this happen, we shall see!
Resolución del 2017 No. 2: Viajar Más!
Este resolución me lo propongo absolutamente todos los años y probablemente seguirá siendo así hasta el día que me muera, jaja. A mí siempre me ha parecido super importante viajar y ver todas las maravillas que tiene que ofrecer el mundo. Es por eso que me estoy proponiendo viajar a por lo menos 3 lugares este año que nunca halla visitado. En particular, espero poder viajar a España, Nueva Orleans, yyyyyyyy mi sueño de toda la vida: JAPÓN! Espero poder hacerlo todo!!
2017 Resolution 3: Conquer my fears!
I know this sounds very very vague and cliché, but I promise I have something specific in mind when I say this. I am not in liberty of sharing with anyone yet, but I have some pretty incredible news of an opportunity I was offered for this year! As appreciative and excited as I am, I am also iiiincredibly scared, anxious, and downright terrified. But I don't want that fear to stop me from living out my dreams and I vow to conquer it this year! It doesn't make much sense now, I know, but I promise to share what it is as soon as I can!!
Resolución del 2017 No. 3: Conquistar mis miedos!
Ya se que esto parece una meta bastante ambigua y cliché, pero les prometo que tengo algo bien específico en mente cuando lo digo. Todavía no estoy en libertad de compartirlo con nadie, pero les cuento que tengo unas noticias IN-creíbles de una oportunidad que me ofrecieron para este año!! Aunque estoy mega emocionada, también estoy aterrorizada y ansiosa. Pero no quiero que ese miedo me detenga de cumplir mis sueños, así que me propongo vencer mis miedos este año!! Se que no da mucho sentido ahorita, pero les prometo contar en detalle en cuanto pueda!!
And there you have it everyone! Just three simple (ha! yeah right!) resolutions for this year. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to thank aaaall of you for your continuous support and for always being behind everything that I do.
