{Tips}: Choosing Work Pants that Fit
Hi guys!! One of my new year resolutions for this year 2016 was to try to dress more professionally at work. This has always been a challenge for me because I either try too hard and end up looking ridiculously inappropriate, or I try too little and look sloppy.
One of the main challenges I have when I'm shopping for work clothes is to find professional pants that actually fit me right. My body is pear shaped in the sense that I have a small waist but I have larger hips and thighs. Thus, it can be difficult sometimes to find pants that highlight my best features. But after doing some field research (ehm, shopping!), I found these two different shapes of pants at Express that I really like, one is called Columnist and the other is called Editor.
-- En Español -- Hola chicos!! Uno de mis resoluciones para el año 2016 es tratar de vestirme más profesional en el trabajo. Esto siempre ha sido un reto para mí, porque suelo o vestirme con demasiaaaado estilo (viéndome poco profesional), o con muy poco estilo (viéndome aburrida).
He descubierto que uno de los retos más grandes que tengo cuando voy de compras para ropa de trabajo es encontrar pantalones que me entallen bien y que se vean profesionales. Mi cuerpo tiene forma de pera en el sentido de que tengo una cintura pequeña pero mis caderas y muslos son grandes. Por lo tanto, puede ser difícil encontrar pantalones que resaltan las mejores facetas de mi cuerpo. Es por eso que me gustaría compartir con ustedes que después de mucha investigación (ehm, investigación = shopping!), he descubierto dos entalles de pantalón en la tienda Express que lucen divinos, uno se llama Editor y el otro Columnist.
Editor: Long and Lean
The Editor pants have a classic straight cut from the largest part of your hips all the way down to your feet, as well as a nice semi-flare at the bottom. What I love the most about these pants is that they do a superb job at making me look long and lean (score!). This straight cut is perfect for large hipped women like me because it downplays the size of your hips/thighs providing balance and the illusion of longer legs.
Editor: Alta y Esbelta
Los pantalones Editor tienen un corte clásico que va desde las caderas recto hasta los pies, con una basta medio acampanada. Lo que más me gusta de estos pantalones es que me hacen lucir más alta y esbelta. El corte recto es perfecto para mujeres con curvas como las mías ya que minimiza el tamaño de tus caderas/muslos proporcionando un equilibrio que da la ilusión de piernas más largas.
Columnist: Modern and Hip
The Columnist pants present a more modern design that is form fitted and cropped at the bottom. These are fantastic to show off your curves (instead of hiding them) as well as a great option to showcase killer shoes (like these new beige and black beauties I bought just recently!). Plus the elastic fabric makes these pants super duper comfy to work in.
Columnist: Moderno y Juvenil
Los pantalones Columnist tienen un diseño más moderno y juvenil presentando un corte mas entallado al cuerpo. Estos pantalones son perfectos para lucir tus curvas (en vez de discimularlos), como también son excelentes para estrenar un buen par de zapatos (como estos negros con beige que me acabo de comprar hace poquito!). Además, la tela de los Columnist es bien elástica logrando un pantalón bastante cómodo para trabajar.
So as you can see, I'm really loving both the Columnist and Editor pants as great options for curvy ladies like me! If you are also trying to upgrade your work wardrobe, i would totally recommend passing by Express either in Multiplaza or Altaplaza mall (or at your international dealers as well!) to check out all their designs. If I, the lover of dresses and skirts, could find pants that fit her well, I'm sure you can too! Hopefully these tips will help you find that professional style you are looking for ;)
