Hi guys! Here is the first of several easy Halloween costume ideas I will be presenting in the next two weeks. First up: an easy homemade Scarecrow costume! I love how cute and simple this costume turned out to be; and the best part is that you can literally put this look together in less than 10 minutes!
What I like the most about this costume is that it is made entirely by things that most women already have in their closets. This is what you will need:
- Jeans
- Plaid shirt
- Boots
- Hat (bonus points if its made out of straw!)
- Black eyeliner (a must!) and orange eyeshadow (optional)
- A little bit of hay
- Sunflowers (optional)
- Paja
- Girasoles (opcional)
For this costume, all you need to wear is your favorite pair of jeans, a comfy plaid shirt (if possible, try to get one in Autumn colors like mine), a pair of boots, and of course a hat. As simple as that.
Ropa y Accesorios:
Makeup:
The key part of this costume is definitely the makeup. I used a black eyeliner to draw these designs on my nose and mouth. I also outlined the bottom of my eyes with a subtle scarecrow-ish (invented word!) design. I finished it off by adding a little orange eyeshadow to the circle on my nose (optional!). I promise this makeup isn't hard to do at all, give it a try!
Maquillaje:
Finishing touches:
A great way to finish off this costume is to grab some hay and stuff it into the top of your boots and out of the sleeves of your shirt. I used just a little bit, but you could go all out with the hay! As a prop, I also bought some big plastic sunflowers to give it that Autumn Scarecrow look.
Toques finales:

And there you have it everyone, a super easy homemade halloween costume that can be put together at the very last minute! I hope you have enjoyed the first of my Halloween costume ideas, stay tuned to see more!

Awesome idea! I needed a last minute costume to wear to work (I'm a preschool teacher) & this works perfect since I have everything I need! I took a straw hat pretty much made a fall floral arrangement on it! Then I opted to do two low side braids (messy) & used straw tucked into tops of my boots & shirt pocket! I love your make-up idea too! Thanks soooo much! This was perfect for me!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Teresa!!!
