{Travel}: The Markets of Aguas Calientes, Perú

We spent most of the last day of our trip to Perú just relaxing in Aguas Calientes, a small town bellow Machu Picchu. We started off with a tasty lunch right by the river. There is nothing more relaxing than the sound of water flowing in a river, plus look at all those mountains!

After lunch, we walked to the market area of town to see all the goodies for sale. Just like we saw in Chinchero, everything in the market was so colorful and full of life!

Next up, we took the train back to Cusco to finish up our trip. Once again, the train was very enjoyable with a magnificent view of all the Peruvian mountains.

We finished off the night by having a traditional Peruvian dinner right by the main plaza in Cusco. The view from the restaurant was amazing!!

  10. Haahahahah thanks Ali!! I know right?! The colors of everything at the markets was just so rich and vivid!! And why yes, that is indeed a fish-shaped plate you spot in this post. We ordered Ceviche! I don't believe its very popular in the U.S., but in Latin American countries it is very common. It is basically like fish sliced in little pieces with lots of lemon and onions. Sounds disgusting but its actually really good!
