Lightning Bolt Heels

Leather and Denim Leather and Denim

Friday November 30, 2012

Soooo, I bought these heels back in June (See post about it here!), and this is the FIRST time I ever wear them!! That should be a crime shouldn't it?! Especially since these Lightning bolt heels are just AH-mazing. My sister likes to call them my "Harry Potter" shoes because of the similarity to Harry's scar... hehe.

In my defense, I'm wearing something quite new: this jacket from Forever21 (Find it here!). I bought it on my trip to Orlando last month, and I'm loving how it mixes denim and leather! Ok, ok, so a month ago doesn't technically count as "new", but its better than the 6-months-old shoes! hahaha.

Do you usually buy items and then not wear them until months later? What is the longest time a "new" item has sit in your closet without wearing it? (Mine is I think a year....ghee whiz, I'm hopeless, haha)

Here are all the ways in which I've worn this dress:

  7. When I read the title of this post, the first thing I thought of was Harry Potter! lol Those shoes are so unique and awesome!

I've definitely been guilty of buying something and then not wearing it for months. I'm not sure what the longest would be...maybe a few months? Maybe close to a year? I might have stuff that I've never actually worn yet. lol. Sometimes I think an item is going to work and then it doesn't. It mostly happens with thrifted stuff because it's so cheap that I can take the risk!

  9. Wow, Marie, you look amazing! <3 The shoes, the dress, the jacket, the hair, the make-up... Amazing outfit!

The shoes remind me of Harry Potter as well, haha! They are amazing, I've never seen anything like them before! Are they comfortable??

I'm also guilty of buying things and then not wearing them for a long time... I think I've also managed to keep things hidden in my closet for a year, haha! But as long as we re-discover the items, it's all good, right? ;)

  16.  Hahaha its funny you thought of Harry Potter with the title of this post, I guess that "Harry Potter" shoes are definitely the right name for these funky heels! hhahaha. Glad to hear I am not the only one guilty of leaving new stuff in their closet without wearing it ;)

  18.  Hahaha glad to hear I'm not alone Jody!!! At least its fun to re-discover "new" things in my closet from time to time. These shoes actually fit me just a tad too small (I ordered them online), so they aren't the most comfortable pair because of that reason. If it weren't for the sizing, they would be very comfortable and sturdy. The heel feels very strong and its easy to walk in them.

  34. hmmm...the longest something has been in my closet before I wore it was 4 months but I bought summer clothes to wear when I moved to Florida so I don't know if that counts...haha. When I purchase clothing I usually wear them the week I get them.
Love the outfit especially the heels. Such interesting design and very unique! :)

  35. Great heels!

About the longest time a "new" item laid in my closet... Let me tell you you're just an apprentice :P One of my cousins married in the end of July 2008 and I bought the outfit in August 2007. Almost 1 year before. On the other hand, the shoes for the occasion were only bought the week before.
And, yeah, I have a couple of "special" dresses and "special" shoes I bought for the past 3-4 years. They're just waiting for the "special" occasion to get out of the closet.

  55.  Thank you so much JB! To be honest, I was quite unsure on how to wear the denim/leather jacket myself. I figured a black and white dress was a pretty safe bet ;)

  56.  OMG!! Hahahahhaa Lorena, you totally beat me with that 8 year old dress!! Well, I once bought a dress to go to prom with my former boyfriend, and we broke up a couple of weeks before the party. I kept the dress with its tags in my closet for 4 or 5 years until I just wore it last year... haha.
