Here is another easy peasy DIY Halloween costume that can be whiped up at the last minute: Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz! I love how simple it looks, and yet very cute and girlie ;)

Clothing:
You will definitely need a gingham dress for this outfit. The one I am wearing is from Shabbyapple.com.

You will also need a pair of white socks, a basket, and a pair of red shoes. I know that Dorothy's shoes are shiny (technically you could glue lots of red glitter to a pair of your shoes), but I think plain red shoes still deliver the message just fine ;)

Hair and Makeup:
I would recommend going for some fresh makeup with this look (red lipstick always adds a little extra something!).

In terms of the hair, why not spice up the simple two ponytails that Dorothy always wears by adding this braided effect. Just follow this hair tutorial on how to do this braid hairstyle.

Ultimate accessory? A doggie!
And what better way to finish off the Dorothy look than with an adorable doggie to portray Toto! If you don't have a pet, then you can also use a dog plush instead ;)

  14. Hello Colleen!!! I am sooooooo embarrassed that I didn't see this comment until now, I'm so sorry!!! To answer your question, this isn't my natural hair color but I get it done in a hair salon so I don't really know what brand and color they use. I'm so sorry!! But thank you for saying you liked it, you totally made my day :)
