Today I decided to wear this purple scarf and hat set that I haven't worn in a while. It's the same set as the black and white one I wore the other day but in purple. I decided to play off some of the grey tones in the scarf by wearing this grey dress. Then I picked the mustard cardi to add a little more color (one color is just NOT enough color for me... jajaja)

Once I was done, I felt the outfit was missing a little something to make it more special. So then I came up with the idea of wearing my black patterned tights over my black tights to add a subtle yet interesting effect. You can't really see the effect very much in the pics, but this subtle detail really made the entire outfit more chic!

  1. I really like this. I have a plain black dress that I'm trying to decide how to style this morning, and this gives me some good ideas. Thanks for posting.

  2. Love the simplicity of the outfit with the grey neutral color and the yellow cardigan as the splash of color. That hat and scarf have to be one of my fav since I love the purples, greys and pinks in it. Your outfit looks so warm and cozy and the black tights under the patterned ones give it a sense of texture and interest.

  3. what a happy and fresh look this outfit is. The hat and scarf match so nicely and look so cute and classy on you. The mustard sweater adds such a nice contrast to this combo. And your long black tights add as another defined contrast. Really looks nice on you. Also your makeup and poses look cute as ever. jgm
